Clash of the Titans: Preview
In Clash of the Titans the ultimate struggle for power takes place, pitting men against kings and kings against gods. But the war between the gods themselves could destroy the world. Born of a god but raised as a man, Perseus (Worthington) is helpless to save his family from Hades (Fiennes), vengeful god of the underworld. With nothing left to lose Perseus sets out on a quest to defeat Hades, and allow Zeus (Liam Neeson) to emerge victorious against the evil of the underworld.
Every step of his way Perseus must overcome a series of deadly opponents, including the fearsome 'Medusa', a god capable of turning even the bravest of warriors to stone with the power of her glare. Perseus will only emerge victorious if he can accept his power as a god, defy his fate, and create his own destiny.
This swords and sandals epic, originally made in 1981, was a hugely entertaining film that featured a fantastic storyline. The creatures in the original film were from the imagination of the late Ray Harryhausen, the master of motion picture special effects.
Louis Leterrier (The Incredible Hulk) directs the remake that will use the latest CGI technology to bring beasts such as the god of the sea 'The Cracken' back in to the 21st century.
Sam Worthington recently played a fantastic role in the record breaking box-office smash Avatar, and he is back again as the protagonist to add to a strong and somewhat experienced cast.

The cast for Clash of the Titans includes Academy Award nominee Liam Neeson (Taken, Schindler List) who takes on the role of the mighty Zeus. Fellow Academy Award nominee Ralph Fiennes (Harry Potter Films, The English Patient) plays the role of Hades, god of the underworld, a heartless creature who feeds off of human fear. Rounding out the cast is Gemma Aterton (Quantum of Solace) as Io, Perseus' mysterious spiritual guide throughout his journey. Alexa Lavalos (Defiance) plays Andromeda, the princess who will lose her life to the Cracken if Perseus' quest is unsuccessful.
Clash of the Titans is expected to be released in the UK on the 2nd of April 2010.
